Hyundai Repair: Electrical, hyundai accent, electrical problem

Question
I own a 2002 Hyundai Accent w/ a 1.6L engine and Manual Transmission. I currently have about 96,500 miles on the car right now most recent repairs were a new alternator and battery. The timing belt, muffler, and 60,000 services have also been performed. My issue is the battery and brake lights come on periodically, especially when the car is low speeds or idling. The last time I saw this was before replacing the alternator and battery, but since then the lights still come on and there is now smoke that comes out of my hood (appears to be coming from the side of the hood). I checked the fluids, and they seem to be OK, The place that replaced my battery thinks that this is a result of dirty battery posts since I waited so long to replace the battery. Since most of my driving is done at highway speeds, I don't see these symptoms every day, but based on the fact the battery light still comes on, there seems to be some kind of an electrical problem that I can't quite put my finger on. Any insight would be most apprecaited. Thanks
Keith

Answer
This should resolve your problem clean the throttle body an reset the tps to specs. This will make the car idle better an up high enough so the lights don't come, what you are seeing is the car thinking it's almost shutting off,so by doing what I have said should raise the idle an the car will not think it is off.
