Hyundai Repair: check engine light, obd 2, elantra

Question
I have an 02 Elantra with 44927 miles on it. I bought the car used with 42767 miles on it. when I purchased the car, I changed the oil. Does the check engine light come on when the oil needs to be changed?  and if so, can I reset it. Or, is there some other problem. Also, is it possible to read the "codes" without taking it into the dealer?

Answer
To answer you ,NO the check engine light does not come on when oil needs to be changed with the OBD-2 systems it is best to have the system checked by a technician whom knows that system ,that's any one that knows not just the dealer but the dealer also knows things technicians on the out side that don' know about that car that may be turning the light on,that's not real a problem .There may be TSB ( technical service bulletin )  on the car or a recall an being you just got the car it would be a good thing to take an have run on your car.Have a great day.
