QUESTION: It is a 1990 model pickup two wheel drive.

Answer
Loosen the tensioner lock bolt so only the spring is applying pressure. Then tighten the bolt. Install the crankshaft sprocket bolt and use it to turn the crankshaft in the normal direction of rotation(clockwise) through two complete revolutions(or 720 degress!) so equal tension will remain to both sides of the timing belt. Remember to loosen or tighten as neede in 1/4 incrimints as to not distort the shaft/s. Then make sure to recheck the timing mark alignment and check the tension of the belt kind of mid-way between the oil pump and camshaft sprocket okay? Just repeat this until you have the correct timing on all rocker arms Dow and if you need anymore help do not hesitate to ask. Thank you again for your patience. I believe this is the correct method however if this doesnt sound right let me know and we will go from here okay?
