Isuzu Repair: 2000 honda passport speedometer, speedometer cable, isuzu rodeo

Question
QUESTION: Dear Sir,

I recently had my transmission rebuilt and had some repair work done due to a rear end collision.  The speedometer stopped working yesterday morning.  The check engine light is not on and the truck appears to drive and shift just fine.  After the trans rebuild and body work every thing worked just fine, until yesterday when the speedo stopped...Any ideas?
ps....stopped means the needle remains at zero mph.

ANSWER: Well your body shop mechaninc could have broken the speedometer cable wire that runs from the transmission to the speedometer inside the dash. I would also recommend having your speedometer cable gear inspected for faults as well.

QUESTION: The system worked for a week after all repairs were made.  The VSS signal is electronic and goes into the PCM as far as I know.  Are you saying there is a physical cable from the trans to the dash as you have indicated in your reply?  Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: France. Low voltage causes high amperage. High amperage causes high heat. High heat usually burns things up. There IS A LOW VOLTAGE test. And it can be performed. I have owned and worked on many Isuzu Rodeo's, Passport's and evrything from Chevy to Porsche. I just wish you would keep negativity to yourself. I guess your calling hundreds of people who have given me 10 out of 10 liars? I have had years of schooling and experience, can you say the same? I do have a day job and an evening job before this forum; so I am sorry if I can't write out a ten page report to every answer.

QUESTION: "Low voltage cause high amperage".  OHMs law states E.I/R...Voltage is electromotive force, and the more push the more current not the opposite as you have stated.  As for my education I am an electrical engineer!.....sorry about the negativity!  you can fool most of the people most of the time.....the folks that gave you a 10 for knowledge don't have a clue that you are taking them for a ride...you stated that the 2000 passport used a speedometer cable...Honda has not used a cable for almost 10 years...you might have well have told me to replace the distributor cap on a car that uses COP.  No disrespect sir I am sure you think you are doing people a service but in reality you have no clue!!!!

Answer
I went directly to my local Napa Auto Parts store. They have the best people I have ever known. I asked them about a low voltage test and a load test and all other components. They agreed with me and said you were a complete moron who needs to see somebody. So now you sre disagreeing with three highly qualified ASE certified people. Yes France, in the abundance of water, only the fool is thirsty. All this nonsense was started because you did not get my answer, your cable/wire. If you knew even a little about what you do to test for low voltage you might understand. yes don't bother to respond because I sleep at night trying to help people for other people like you to try and bring them down. France, I really do hope you get some help. Oh the names were Keith and Dale by the way.
