Answer
Hello Larry, well to save you alot of time and hassle, Isuzu's motors were line-bored and honed on a custom machine, I would be surprised if you found just a bare block anywhere other than a junk yard. I have dealt with everything from the 2.2 up to the 3.5 and each one had something different and custom about it. They are a chevy motor but They are not like a 350 at all, ya know easy and interchangeable. I would hate to tell you "ya its ok to put in a used block or rebuild one but i have heard horror stories from mechanics attempting this. my advice is buy a rebuilt from a well known store. One piece of metal left in an engine block can ruin your engine bearings or scratch your crankshaft journals or both or worse!
