Isuzu Repair: 1992 Isuzu Rodeo, isuzu rodeo, jumper cables

Question
I just put a new set of head gaskets on and when taking it to fill up with gas last night there was a weird squealing noise coming from the shifter area and then it stalled and the engine will not turn over. It sounds like a dead battery but the battery is brand new. I did hook up jumper cables just in case the battery was dead but it still won't turn over. I ran the truck around the neighborhood during the previous day it shifted fine and there was no noise but, last night it was around 40 degrees. Could it be the torque coveter has locked up?

Answer
Hello Frank, well if your engine won't turn over, then it's probably your timing belt/chain that was letting you know it was going out. Other than the transmission, rodeo's are horrible for thier transmissions going out, it could be an inhibitor switch maybe, but I would check on the engine first and make sure you have a good strong connections on all of your main wiring harness
