Isuzu Repair: 1996 Trooper Clutch & Temperture, clutch system, clutch pedal

Question
I have two questions regarding my 96 Isuzu Trooper (V6)
First, I just noticed that my clutch has a lot of "play" when I press on it toward the top. I have to press it down to the floor to shift gears. Do I need an entire clutch kit or where do I start? There is no grinding.
Also, when I am on the freeway only my temperature will go to very hot. This only happens on the freeway and if it is warm outside. It is is raining or cool the temp. will stay normal. Any help will be appreciated!

Answer
Hello Christina. Well, it sounds as if you have a bad thermostat or a quick test of the water pump could rule that out as well. Do you notice any coolant leaking on the ground or smeel any? Tightly squeeze your top radiator hose and if you feel a surge of coolant go by, your water pump is good, if not, your water pump is bad. Also, have your timing belt examined if need be, but try these mentioned first. Your Clutch pedal could be due to air entering your system, common on these Rodeo's. The complexity of the clutch system should be left to a well known mechanic tho.
