Isuzu Repair: 96 Rodeo, chilton manual, best bet

Question
My 1996 rodeo 2.8L 2 wheel drive if not warmed-up first, shift's into 3rd. & 4th. hard!!!
Even when braking.
If i let it idle for a couple of minute's first, it is smooth.
Does this make any sense to you?
It has no dip stick under hood to check fluid.
It is an automatic, with power, and winter push button's.
Help!!!
Sincerely,

Answer
Is it cold where you live? get your transmission serviced and all fluids checked. This could be a sign of what is to come. sounds like your tranny is having problems, but if it is cold where you live, get a tranny warmer. that will definitely help. there could be a # of things happeneing. your best bet, take it to a shop that you know, and let them look at it. get 2 opinions, and go from there. My van did that and I ignored it too long. cost me 3500.00 to get new tranny, sensors,...DO NOT IGNORE THIS PROBLEM! get a chilton manual on your specific vehicle and look up where to check and change all fluids, these books are on Ebay and in all parts stores. if they don't have it in the store, ebay is $15.00 for one. You should check your transmission fluid every 3-6 months no matter what.
That's all I have to say 'bout that!
Thanks, Forrest
