Isuzu Repair: 1988 Isuzu Trooper 2.6L, isuzu trooper, fuel rail

Question
Hello Jon.  My Trooper has been difficult to keep idling upon cold start for a couple of months, and I have noticed a small decrease in power.  After driving 20 miles the other night and noticing an extreme power drop, it will now not restart.  It is getting spark and fuel.  I have replaced the fuel filter and it has been tuned up within the last 10000 miles.  I noticed today a  (one drop every 10 seconds while turning over) fuel leak around the first injector by the fuel rail.  Would this be the cause of the problem?  I have proceeded to remove the throttle body/chamber and am now ready to remove the fuel rail.  (I just want to make sure this makes sense to go through)  Also, I have noticed a small amount of oil in each of the intake manifold chambers, and also in the air intake.  What should I check, PCV, etc..?  Thanks for your time.  Joe H.

Answer
A small amount of oil is common. Yes, you are looking in the right place. The injector may not totally correct the problem, but it will help the power loss, and it could cause the engine to no start. I would also check the engine compression just to make sure that your engine is still in good shape.
