Isuzu Repair: Oxygen sensor, isuzu trooper, oxygen sensor

Question
I have a 1991 Isuzu Trooper with a 2.8 V-6 engine and would like to change the oxygen sensor, but can't locate it anywhere on the exhaust manifold. Could it be hidden from sight?  Can you help me locate it?

Answer
Hello Rscar. The o2 sensor will be found in the pipe between the manifold and the catalytic converter. It will not be easy to remove.
Quick hint; If you want to replace that part because the o2 light is on, STOP! Buy nothing. That light is designed to come on at a specified mileage(around 80-90K) so that you will take the car to the dealer and have the emmissions system checked. There may not be a problem, and just changing the sensor will not turn out the light. There is a proceedure that has to be performed in order to turn out the light. Good luck!  Phil
