Jaguar Repair: 87 Jaguar XJ6 windows

Hello Howard I have an issue with my windows. They were working and all the sudden the drivers side windows (front/rear) just stopped and will not go up or down. the passenger front still works fine and the passenger rear intermittently work. Can you help me with where I should start with, I have checked the fuse box under the drivers side and the fuses are good. I'm gonna check the relay next, but is there something else I should check as well? Thank you for your time and your advise.

Hi Tom,

First, does the sun roof operate? If so then look at the switches in the console by removing the
lid of the console and the plastic tray inside to gain access to the plug connections on the switches and you will need a diagram to ID what wire does want. If you don't have one let me know and I will post one on my web site for you to refer to.

If the sun roof does not operate then look and test for power on both thermal breakers on the lower right Aux fuse panel. They are two rectangle black boxes on the lower right Aux panel. I don't remember which breaker handles the left windows and which is the right windows but all of the wires on the two breakers must be powered. The one that supplies power to the left windows also powers the sun roof.
