Jaguar Repair: hard to start, fuel pressure regulator, pressure fuel

car starts well doing the day..in the mornings
it over floods the engine.it will try to start
then it gets to much fuel and floods the engine to
the point that i have to wait until the fuel drains
out of the injections.the engine gets so much fuel that
it causes the batery to not turn the engine..after a while
the engine will start great as if nothing was wrong..

PS:
CLEAN BOTH TANKS NEW FUEL FILTER AND PUT ON A NEW PUMP ON.
I WONDER IS IT THE PUMP? IT DID NOT DO THAT AT FIRST...

Hi Richard,

First I need to know what kind of car this is. How did you determine that it is flooding with fuel? It is unlikely the pump if this is a Series III XJ-6 because the pump has no control of the fuel pressure. Fuel pressure is controlled by the fuel pressure regulator.

There is a procedure for testing the injection system. So first tell me what kind of car this is and how did you determine it was flooding?
