ANSWER: Hi Richard,

Print this so you can have it at the car.

You first need a couple of jumper wires and a 12v test light.

Connect one jumper wire to a good ground close to the switch and switch plug. Then disconnect the harness plug from the switch and connect your ground to the Pink w/light Green tracer wire in the harness to the car.

Now connect another jumper wire to a good 12v power source and just touch the White w/light Green tracer wire in the harness of the car.

The wiper motor should run at Fast speed.

Second test.

Leave the test lead on that grounded the Pink W/light Green tracer wire.

Just touch the Black w/light Green tracer wire with your powered test lead. The wipers should run at slow speed.

If both of these test work, then you problem is either your switch or the wiring of the switch or you have lost ground on the plain Black wire in the car harness or you lost power on the plain light Green wire in the harness (fuse #6).

If you did not get any running on the first two tests then you need to run the same tests on the same colors at the wiper motor.

Then if you still don't get any run at the motor, you have a problem inside the wiper motor itself.

Don't skip any of these tests.

Let me know,

Howard

Answer
Glad you found the problem, thanks for the feed back.

The Lucas bullet connectors are noted for corrosion and the female plugs are difficult to clean. I have had some luck with a worn out 22 cal. bore brush. Also in a Dremal tool kit is a small diameter brush that also works well for the female plugs. A mechanic friend told me once to use CLR but I have not tried it yet.

You might also note that you probably have water getting to the plugs so when you get them clean you might take steps to protect the plugs. You might also look for some electrical grease at Radio Shack or such.
