Jaguar Repair: 1986 XJ Fuel Sending Unit, wd 40, fuel sending unit

Hi Howard,

I know I need to replace the fuel sending unit on my left tank because it doesn't work and also on my right tank because that side is leaking from the sending unit. The right side does work but we have pin pointed that is where my fuel leak is. Where do you recommend I get new sending units. Is one after market company better than another?

Hi Judy,

I found that I was able to save about 50% of the failed sending unites by removing them and use something like WD-40 and move the arm up and down to free them up. They usually get rusted and get stuck.

If you can't save it that way you can get them from most on-line Jag parts companies like Engel Imports or Terry's Jaguar on the Internet. They have toll free phone numbers and are both reputable companies.

I mainly deal with Engel Imports and find them very helpful.
