Jaguar Repair: 2008 Jaguar XJ Vaden Plas, car fax report, 2008 jaguar xj

Question
I noticed this 23,823 mileage car online for a very reasonable price plus car fax report.  Appears to all still be under warranty, but makes a note to ask dealer about any manufacturer's recall notices.  I checked other car fax reports on other vehicles and it does not make a point to say check with dealer re manufacturer's recalls.  I've sent an email to the dealer asking what all this is about on this specific car....but I'd like another resource so I can double-check/verify the information.  Plus I've sent an email to customer service at Jaguar with vin to ask if there are any problems:
Are you aware of any recalls this year and this model?  If so, what is the recall?  Who in the Nashville area can do recall work at no cost to owner and bill the manufacturer?  Thanks!

Answer
Sorry B,

I have not kept up with Jaguar since the 1987 models. I suspect that the statement of "ask the dealer about any recalls" is just a blanket statement to cover all bases. You could just call the dealer and ask if there are any. I don't think they would lie to you as when I worked for dealerships, the dealer gets paid to do recalls so there is no reason to not want to. He don't care who pays him to do work.

23 K miles on a Jag is not much. I also think the dealer can look up the history of the car with the VIN #. Even if they didn't service it or sell it. Jaguar of Nashville is the Nashville dealer and most of them I have met and are good people. My son worked there for 18 years until he died two years ago.

You can contact the dealer at 1-888-618-1640.
