Jaguar Repair: low injector fire on noid light, resistor pack, starter fluid

Question
I have a 1986 jag xj6 it has 40 psi fuel pressure is getting fire to the plugs but real or very little fire to the injectors. Where should I start. You can pour fuel in intake and it will run. I hooked up a noid light and it barely flickered.

Answer
Hi Roger,
First test is to charge the battery up fully and even though that may spin the engine quit fast add a good jumper battery as though the main battery is not charged. Then check the Noid light and spray starter fluid into the intake to see if it will start and run on the two batteries.

If that don't make it run you need to start testing connections. Ignition pulse signal to the ECU plug, each injector ground from the ECU to each injector, the power supply to the ECU and the Start signal to the ECU and the several ECU grounds. Then test the power to the resistor pack and each resistor and each wire from the resistor pack to each injector.

If you don't have a wiring diagram of the injection system let me know and I will put one up on my web site for you to copy.
