Jaguar Repair: Jag 1986 XJSC 3.6 euro no start, air flow meter, coolant temp

Hey Henry,
I have an 86 3.6 euro XJS that will not run when the coolant temp switch is connected to the harness.  Runs okay with it disconnected, the second I connect it it dies on me.  I have replaced the switch with a known good unit.  Any ideas?

Hi Jason,
I have no experience with a Euro version of the XJ-S. If this has the Bosch "L" Jetronic injection system You need to check the ohm reading of the old and the new temp unit. Where in the US did you find a Euro version sending unit? What was the ohm reading of the old one vs the new one? and is this an "L" Jetronic system? (air flow meter has a flap door in it)
