Jaguar Repair: window wiring, toll free numbers, xj6c

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I purchased a 1975 xj6c with a chev conversion. The wiring for the windows are all disconneted and hanging loose for the most part in the console. I have been trying to figure out where to connect them to the switches. I have a live wire and ground, but no idea how to connect all wiring. I have been trying to get a diagram but to no avail. I send for something and it does not show the window set up. Do you have something that would show the wiring sequence? Many thanks, John

ANSWER: Hi John,
I don't have a wiring diagram of the early XJ-6 but do have one for the later ser. III XJ-6 which may be the same.
I will post it on my web site for you to look at and maybe you can tell if it matches. http://mg-tri-jag.net/JagWindow1x1.jpg

QUESTION: Hi Howard
I think the diagram will help me out. Thank yuou for the quick reply. Do you have a color code for the wiring. I can figure some out but not all. I also need an iginition switch ( with keys). Could you reccomend a source for one? Thanks again, John

Answer
John, go on line and look up Engel Imports, John's Cars, & Terry's Jaguar to name a few that I have bought from. All three are good companies and have web sites and toll free numbers. I can't tell which has the best price as that sometimes differs. Ask if an aftermarket part is available as they sometimes source aftermarket parts besides their OEM parts.
Attached is the color codes.
