Jaguar Repair: jag 1985 xj6 fuel, fuel tank, fuel pump

One fuel tank full. Drove about 100 miles while smelling gas the time. After being parked for about a hour, on the ground under both tanks was a puddle of gas. Sometomes there is a humming noise coming from the trunk

Hi Lisa,
A leak at both tanks is a clear indication you need someone to look to see where the leaks are coming from. A leak from the tanks does not tell you where, just that there is a leak. The humming is probably the fuel pump as it runs all the time the engine is running.
You should not drive this car until you have someone check and correct the leaks as it is very dangerous. Even the smallest spark can ignite the car and there are many things in the back of the car that can cause a spark.
