Jeep Repair: Camshaft Position sensor and oil pump drive seized, jeep cherokee, debri

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0 6 cylinder and the camshaft synchronizer seized up on it. I drove for less than 1/2 a mile before I stopped. Can I just replace the sensor and drive after taking off the oil pan and cleaning out the debri? The other mechanics I talk to all want me to rebuild the engine or replace it. The gear on the oil pump drive is sheared off on one side but the gear on the camshaft appears to be in good shape. Do I need to replace the camshaft? Thanks for your help

ANSWER: u would need to speak with the guy that has his hands on the engine and can tell what it is doing  not some one online

QUESTION: With that response I get the feeling I am not talking to someone online! I can see why you don't accept ratings...I had expected better just based on your previous posts. I guess we all have off days. What is the point of asking an expert online?

Answer
I am real as it gets.
What i can not answers is what damage has been done to the internals of an engine  that is what the guy at the shop is being paid for he is the one u need to talk to. I don't do ratings because I don't do this for ratings I put my experience out there and if people are in my area  they use me for work.
