Jeep Repair: tranny sensors, throttle, speed sensors, shaft speed

I have a 1997 jeep GC laredo 6 cyl 4.0 and wondering if there are 2 sensors on the transmission the input/output speed sensors.

also usally this happens when i first start driving i give it gas it hesitates then i hear clunk like its not getting gas then i pump the throttle and it goes away. It does not happen if im just driving along.

I just found this question in the Question Pool so I might be able to help you. There is only one sensor used in this transmission and its only purpose is to monitor the output shaft speed for use by the engine controller. It has no affect on take-off. Check the transmission fluid level and condition, you may just need to have it serviced.
