Jeep Repair: ASD Relay, fuel pump relay, ground 0

Question
QUESTION: I  have 04 Grand Cherokee 4.7L with multiple engine codes. Check engine codes P1499, P1495, P0136 and three additional codes in the enhanced DTCs P0622,p1282 and P1388. Starts fine, missing and after it warms up ASD relay starts clicking. From my reseach appears all these codes can be related to open or shorted circuits. Started vehicle and when ASD started clicking the 30 and 86 pins measured 14 volts. The 87 pin was intermittent (test light blinking). put in a bypass wire in the relay from 30 to 87, still clicking but engine running smooth. Seems to indicate bad relay, I swapped relays and no change. K51 circuit continuity 0.3 ohms. Resistance k51 circuit (PDC) to ground 0.0 ohms ( I assume I measured this correctly K51 pin slot in PDC to gound on engine/body, ASD relay removed). PCM connector looks very clean and wiggled wires no change. The thing that really puzzles me is that it occurs after the engine has been running for 5 to 15 minuutes and when you shot the engine off and restart it right away the engine runs fine for another few minutes before the clicking starts again.

ANSWER: Check the K51 circuit again but this time use a 12v test light hooked up to battery + and probe the K51 wire terminal. If it lights up you have a hard short to ground, which the PCM sees and will attempt to shut down the relay. If it does not, the fuse/relay box has an internal defect and needs replacing.

QUESTION: Checked out the K51 terminal with test light hocked to positive side as instructed - did not light. I also probed the other terminals, pin 86 (f991 circuit) was lit. Should this be the case? Does the whole box need to be replace?

Answer
If pin 86 is lighting up when probed with the test light connected to B+ you definately have a short to ground on the ignition swirch output side of that circiut, That should caused fuse #12 in the junction block, which also supplies an ignitio switch feed to the fuel pump relay, to open. If it has not then the there is something going on here that I can't see and have not experienced. To answer your second question, yes the whole box will need replacement.
