Jeep Repair: AMC inline 6, jeep cj 5, jeep cj

Question
HI
I have a 1983 jeep CJ-5. In it i have an Inline 6, 258 motor. It has about 2500 miles on it since i had it rebuilt. It has a fairly new 2 barrel weber carb. My question is how smooth should i be able to get this motor to run? I gave it a tuneup, plugs wires cap and rotor. I had it stored in the winter. It runs pretty smooth, with a slight vibration, and every now and then a slight shake to the motor. The exhaust sounds pretty constant with a rare bump. I have messed with the mixture some, but i dont fully understand it. So over all how smooth can i expect this motor to run? Should i be able to sit in the jeep and not be able to feel it running, or should i be able to look at the motor with ear plugs and not be able to tell if it is running? I just have nothing to compare it to so any input on what to expect would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Answer
Given the age of the vehicle and the recent repair history, I also do not have anything to compare it to. The amount of acceptable engine vibration is somewhat subjective. And is dependent on so many variables it would be hard to sat what would be normal. Best to get someone to lay hands on it for an accurate opinion.
