Hi,
I have a question I hope you can help me with. I have a 2005 Jeep liberty. I am now having to drive my jeep in part-time 4 wheel drive, because of a noise coming from the underside whenever I try to drive it in 2 wheel drive mode. I know it's difficult to diagnose a problem from a noise. I don't really know what else to add other than, it doesn't make the noise in 4 wheel drive mode and when I tried to pull into my driveway in 2 wheel drive it was difficult to get it up the incline and made a clanking sound from underneath. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like it is not fully engaging in gear, I would go underneth and look at the transfer case and see if anything looks lose, if not I would take it to a shop. Something like this is nothing to just mess around with if you dont know what you are looking for,
