Jeep Repair: new ECM and ignition diable, secret key, ecm

Question
Hi Kevin, I'm sure you can provide a better solution than my mechanic. They replaced the ECM with a salvage unit and supposedly the locksmith has to sync the key with the new ECM. But, they could not do it. The engine still shuts down due to the ignition shut off feature. The dealership says that it has to be a brand new ECM to work ($900). Since I can't afford a new ECM, what can be done. Can we just disarm the ignition disable feature? Can you just unplug the security system to achieve this? Do you have any creative ideas?
Thanks,
Russ

Answer
u will need a brand new PCM The one U installed has a secret key that is only to one jeep and no other so when u swap around PCM with the jeep u have the secret key is different thus U dont start up.  Visit http://www.autocomputerexchange.com/ order a new PCM that is already programed to your jeep and all U do is plug it in and away u go.
