Jeep Repair: 2002 Jeep Liberty t-case, vent hose, propeller shaft

Question
Hello-- My 2002 jeep liberty with the 3.7Liter motor is having transfer case problems. I have had two shops tell me the t-case has to be rebuilt. Both shops have told me its not possible to disconnect the front driveline. They say it will cause computer problems. I was wondering if they just don't want to do it because it will discredit there shop. Is this possible and is it a tough fix. Thank you in advance,James
