Jeep Repair: removing park lights under headlights, side marker lamp, jeep grand cherokee


Question
it may sound silly but do you have to remove the hole assembly to get to the park/turn lights under the head lights on a 1998 jeep grand cherokee limited 5.9 or just the bumper cover. also the answer for the rattle under the hood on another 5.9 jeep owner was very informational because a mechanic her said to replace lifters basically rebuild the motor....

PARKING LAMP
REMOVAL
The parking lamp is mounted on the side of the GOR next to headlamp assembly.

Open hood.
Remove screws attaching the parking lamp to the GOR Park Lamp
Rotate lamp socket counterclockwise and pull socket from lamp.
INSTALLATION
Position lamp socket in lamp and rotate clockwise.
Position lamp in place and install the screws.


TURN SIGNAL AND SIDE MARKER LAMP
REMOVAL
Remove parking lamp.
Remove the screws and slide lamp outboard to expose the socket Turn Signal And Side Marker Lamp
Remove turn signal socket from lamp.
Remove sidemarker socket from lamp.
Separate lamp from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
Install turn signal lamp socket.
Install side marker lamp socket.
Slide lamp into slot provided on inboard side of headlamp assembly.
Install screws.
Install parking lamp.
