Jeep Repair: 1999 Grand Cherokee possible bad computer, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2wd 4.0 that seems to crank just find when starting but never gets any fuel. I had it checked and was told the fuel pump is fine but not engaging and the computer may be bad. Before I replace the computer what else can I check or how can I be positive the computer is the problem?

take the relay out for the fuel pump and jump pin 30 and 87  that will give the pump full power then try and start the jeep  if it wont run  then U know its not a pump issue  unless the pump it self is bad and U are not getting any fuel to the rail   U can check the fuel pressure and see if thats the case.
