Jeep Repair: Drivers side door check replacement, interior door panel, speaker location

Question
My 2002 Grand Cherokee door won't hold in the open position.  I assume I need a new door check arm.  Is it best to partially remove the interior door panel to access the door check, and how best to do this?

Thanks,
Rick
