Land Rover Repair: DISCO WONT START, door latch, s factor

dear sir can you shed some light on the security system on my 1996 landrover it just up an quit on me i have been told i am locked out by the security system i had a red light come on when i pulled into my driveway 20 min later the horn was going an the land rover would not start i replaced the green box on the passenger side that took care of the horn an red light .  i still cant get it to fire no spark would the drivers door lock being broke have anything to do with the system shutdown of security system

Answer
If the driver door lock is broken you cannot resynchronize the alarm, which will prevent starting.  But more important, if you tampered with the control units you may have lost sync from the alarm to the engine controller.  And you can't get that back without connecting the Autologic or T4 diagnostic system.  I'd sugget you sort out the driver door and then put the key in the door and turn to lock while pushing lock on the remote.  Do the same turning and pushing unlock.  If that does not realign it it's time for a tow to the shop.
