Land Rover Repair: noise, land rover discovery, muffler shop

I have an 04 Land Rover Discovery SE7 and recently it has been making a lot of noise when I release the gas. The higher the speed I'm traveling at when I release the gas, the louder the noise. As soon as I press the gas the noise disappears. It sounds like it may be coming from underneath the car. What could this noise be?

could it be exhaust related?

Take it to a muffler shop or a general garage mechanic that you trust.  Have them lift the Disco and perhaps they'll be able to see if there is a problem with the exhaust system.  It could just be that that connection has come loose (broken or lost bolt) or a gasket has broken.  It could also be your catalytic converter on the Y pipe.
