Land Rover Repair: Keyless entry, body control module, radio receiver

Question
We have a 2000 year model series 2 Discovery. They keyless entry works fine until we leave the car locked for longer than about 24 hours. After this time to cars locks don't respond to the remote and we have to insert the key in a lock and open it manually once to allow the keyless entry to work again. Any ideas?

Answer
It sounds like the body control module may have an internal problem that causes it to go off.  I'm pretty sure the radio receiver for the locking is a part of that. I'd start by swapping the radio receiver if it's separate.  If not, I would swap the body module temporarily and see what happened.  A dealer or specialist will be needed because you have to have the LR test system to program those items.  Also, they may have those parts in stock so they can be fitted experimentally.  I don't know any other way to go at that issue
