Land Rover Repair: Transmission Electrical Fault Indicator, electrical fault, trans issues

2003 Discovery HSE - I have intermittent flashing green Manual %26 Sport mode lights indicating an electrical fault with the auto transmission. Turn the engine off and on again and the fault clears but this occurrence is becoming more regular. What would be the most likely culprit to hunt down and eradicate?

Answer
The only way to know would be to connect a LR test system and scan the transmission control for faults.  Most of the faults point to issues within the transmisison, there is little an owner can do from home for most trans issues on this model
