Land Rover Repair: 1996 Land Rover Range Rover dies while driving, land rover range rover, rover range rover

Question
I have a 1996 Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 and when the RPM get below a certain point like when coming to a stop or letting it just idle without giving it any gas the Rover dies. I am told the Fuel filter has never been changed because my mechanic cannot get it off they are going to have to cut it off to replace. Could this be causing the problem?

Answer
No.  If the filter were clogged you'd be fine at idle and run out of gas at speed.  If the mechanic you use suggested that as an explanation of your stalling I'd suggest you find someone more qualified with a better understanding of technology.  The best way to find the source of a problem like yours is to look at the live data stream from the diagnostic system when your truck is running.  There are many possible causes and guessing is costly
