Land Rover Repair: 2001 land rover discover II gas door lock, door latch, gas tank

My gas tank door latch is no longer visible, and unable to reengage and lock tank filling door after fueling, how do I access that to repair, and is this something that I can do myself?

There is a little plastic piece that may have fallen apart or gone missing.  Go to your dealer and get them to show you an exploded view of the fuel door lock.  Look at your truck and see if you can see what's wrong.  If the piece is missing, get a new one.  If the lock is stuck back, there is either a failure in the lock or an electrical manfunctin.  I'd start with the lock in that case
