Land Rover Repair: ATF leakage from the hose, ilive, hose clips

Hi John, Ilive in Nigeria and currently have ATF leakage on my 2002 LR discovery SE(85,454 miles) which has been on for some time now.

I've had my mechanic retighten the hose clips after which the leakage starts in few hours.

I am wondering why the hose should still allow the ATF fluid to leak when it is tight and wouldn't turn again.

Ques: can I apply some gum at the tip of the hose before I fix it back and clip to stop the leakage since I don't have a close dealership where I can buy the original LR hose for it now.

Please help I really need to travel with the car and don't feel good with the leakage.

Hi Ihechiluru,

replace the hose. Best practice is the remove the hose and install an new one.  I wouldn't bother trying to paste a leak and the hose should not be that expensive.  

Sounds like some micro-cracks or connector leakage.

I hope its just a hose.
