Land Rover Repair: ACE whining, ace system, testbook

Hi, I have recently purchased a series II 1999 Disco. There is a whining noise on cornering and the guy I bought it from said it was 'normal'. There are no warning lights showing. On may forum the suggestion was if a passenger asks what the noise is, it is not normal.  Is the ACE pump capable of being serviced? How do I change the fluid or any filter it may have. Is it easy to replace? Do I need access to a Testbook to reset anything?  Any advice on this annoying noise would be really appreciated.

could it be a bearing problem within the anti-roll bar links attached to the axle?  What you should to is have a LR mechanic who knows how to diagnose the ACE components to see if it actually IS the ACE system causing the noise.  It could also the a CV joint problem that can cause noises when making turns.

The Testbook is used in priming the ACE system (bleeding).  I've never done it but I believe the ACE hydraulics are tied into the power steering system (PAS) as well.  Again, on this job, knowing how sensitive the ACE system is, I'd suggest a LR mechanic perform the flush, filter and refill steps.  A testbook is needed for this.
