Land Rover Repair: Short/Draw, factory test, test gear

Question
Hi,

I had a new battery and alternator only to have truck die again.  03 Range Rover.  Took it to dealer they said at first there was a major drain but as they checked it went away and never came back.  Since than, I never want to drive it for fear it will die on me while driving again.  What could it be?  I read somewhere about a parasitic drain after shutting car off, after I do , I don't hear anything and no lights remain on, so IDK what it is.  Contemplating getting rid of this truck, although it is in beautiful condition inside and out.

Answer
Your truck has many computers that are always connected to power.  There's a body computer that's supposed to power down all the other devices when the car is left sitting.  There's a good chance it's not entering that low power state for soem reason.  To sort that out you are going to have to find a dealer or shop with the factory test gear to talk to those computers while looking at CAN bus state
