Land Rover Repair: door locks, back doors, window frame

My two back doors on my disco II will not unlock with the key fob, I have to
pull the inside door handle to get the door unlocked.  I have taken the
panel off to lubricate, but this did not work. I can here a little noise coming
from the electical cartridge when I hit the button, but nothing happens.
What do I need to do?

The power door lock solenoids are integrated into the latches in Discovery II models.  They are difficult to change as you must first remove the window frame.  They are almost certainly your problem.  If you pay a shop expect $225 parts and 2-3 hours labor per door.
