hi there mr robison i have a 1800 freelander iv had it for a while now but ive had this connstant problem wen driving long distances or in the heat the car starts to splutter and the more petrol i give it the worse it gets and it will cut out completely butsum times if i hold the pedal in the same position it can drive for a bit longer but then it still cuts out i have to wait until it cools down tostart it again and then it will drive but the longer i drive the worse the problem gets n 4 the life of me i cant figure out wat it is thats why i was thinking mayb a faulty cut off switch or sumthing its got to the stage were ive got it parked up and im ready 2 destroy it ive redone the motorand pull loads on new thing under the hood if uve eva heard of anything like this pls could u let me know id be mot greatfull thanx richard jamieson

Problems like yours are the reason the more sophisticated test systems have live display modes.  If you were to connect a t4 or Autologic disgnostic computer and then drive your truck, I am sure you would be able to see something seriously "off" in one of more readings when the truck began to stumble.  That's truly the fastest way to diagnose this, and indeed it's really the only way other than luck or guesswork.

You may be able to find an independent specialist (that's what my company - Robison Service - is) or you may end up at the dealer.
