Land Rover Repair: trouble code p1562 on 2003 land rover discovery, land rover discovery, transmission control unit

Question
QUESTION: I have a trouble code that appeared on my LR. Code read p1562.  I was wondering what the problem might be, what causes it and how to fix it. I have looked up the code definition and it read: battery supply below 9v while engine running. also states something about M and S lights.  I have had my m and s lights come on several times before i got this mil code. I just turned the truck off then turned it back on, and it would be fine. Would it be a dying battery? Altenator dying? Battery supply fuse? What should i do and how do I check these things
thanks
brian

ANSWER: Usually, this indicates a bad battery.  Have the battery tested at your local auto parts store.  They can check the alternator if your battery tests okay.

QUESTION: I forgot to add these codes: p1415 and p0441 they all appeared at the same time as the p1562. I bought a new battery since the voltage of it would drop to 10.4 over night. these guys at the auto store tried to tell me it was good when they checked it, of course its good my alternator charged it all the way there. Guess they will hire what ever walks in. Could you give me a little info what the other codes could be refering to?
thanks brian

Answer
P1562 indicates a battery supply problem to the transmission control unit or the engine control unit. I would first clean all battery grounds and feeds, check the battery conditioin then the alternator output ,and then proceed to check the transmission control module connector for corroded pins aqnd connections and correct latching of the connector to the module. then the same procedure with the engine control module cleaning all connections with an electrical cleaner.
