Land Rover Repair: Leaking oil at 90k, drive shaft, sludge

Question
John,
Appreciate you answering all these folks questions and hope you can offer some advice. I have a 2000 LR Disco II and it has 91k miles on it. Never really had any issues with the truck and I still love it. It has been leaking oil from all sorts of places now and I am thinking about spending the money and having it repaired. I have not done the 90k service yet. If you were going to spend the thousands to get it fixed, what would you look at including in the repairs. To fix the leak they might have to almost pull out the engine. If they are going to have other oportunities to get at parts they normally would not be able to get at, since they would be fixing all these leaks, would you recommend replacing anything even if it has some life left, knowing that the part(s) have a high probability of going out some time in the future? My question is, what are those parts that historically have failed after 100k in the LR Disco II. Thanks for your advice.
Tony

Answer
We get jobs like that here at Robison Service all the time.  On the engien, we'd look at the timing cover seal and the water pump.  We'd look in the engine for sludge.  We'd do all the maintenance parts including wires.  Underneath we'd doo all the fluids and look hard at the front drive shaft.  We'd scan for codes, flush brakes, look at shocks.  We'd look at the steeing linkage and hoses.  Remember every truck is different and you just have to look carefully
