Land Rover Repair: fuse box landrover discovery ll 2000, fuse box, filler plug

Question
QUESTION: hello, i have trouble with my windshieldwipers. we checked the fusebox under the hood. everythink seams okay. i think the motor is finish, but i want to be sure. they say there is another fusebox on the passengersite compardment........but we cant find it.
is there a way to check if its really the motor for the wipers? and from where do i acces the motor ?

thanks so much.......doreen

ANSWER: Usually, it is the wiper switch on the steering column that goes bad.  The passenger compartment fuse box is under the access panel on the drivers side (below the steering wheel).

To access the wiper motor, you must go from the exterior. Remove the wiper arms, then remove the panel below the windshield.  Check the continuity at the wiper motor to see if it is the motor.  Otherwise, try a new switch and see if it corrects the problem.

Answer
The transmission is a sealed unit.  The filler plug is on the right, front side of the transmission oil pan.  I do not recommend checking it yourself as the vehicle will have to be running and there is a good chance you will get burned.

I don't really unerstand your complaint about the heat.  Is it only one vent that is not working?  Does it work at some speeds but not others?  Please provide me with more detail.
