Land Rover Repair: HELP PLEASE, land rover dealer, head gasket failure

Question
I have a similar problem to others but wld still appreciate your thoughts. I amin the UK and have an 03 RR Vogue. Its overheating and the engine coolant sign is coming on. I am sure that the engine coolant is leaking out of the bottom of the front left side of the engine in two places. However Land Rover say its not and say that they need to take the engine apart. They said they are guessing that the exhaust fumes are getting into the coolant system and this is causing the coolant to come out of the cap which is nonsense. My local Land Rover dealer service team are rubbish. They often lie and get things wrong. I have proved this time and again. I now realise that I can go to a BMW dealer which i WILL.Land Rover think I need a new engine. Its only done 70k miles. The car is worth £25k and an engine will be £10k. I really would appreciate your help asap

Answer
The dealer may be right.  They can do a test for exhaust gases in the coolant.  Have they done that?

Head gasket failure was common on the Land Rover V8 motor, but it's actually pretty rare on the BMW motor, which is what you have in an 03.

It sounds like you need to find a shop you have confidence in.
