Land Rover Repair: flashing engine light, british car service, intake air temp

I have noticed in the weather change in az getting in the 50's  if I do not let my landrover 2000 disco II warm up I get 5 mins down the road the car will not accerlate past 10 mph until I drive it for 5 mins the check engine light stops flashing and goes back . My husband changed ot sensor in it and started like that last time he also took air filter out don't ask me why I think the other one got clogged and we couldn't find a replacement. I was wondering if there a quick fix he is in iraq until jan and taking these things to the shop is ridculus price thanks for your help

Hi Nicole,

First, thank you and your husband for supporting our way of life, god-speed to him.

That does not sound right, even in sub-0 weather it should run OK cold.  My guess would be a bad temperature sensor, either coolant or intake air temp.  It really needs a session on a LR specific diagnostic machine, doesn't have to be the dealership.
