Land Rover Repair: 95 Disco ignition coil, engine cranks, alpine az

Question
HI- keeping this short and sweet:- 95 3,9 Disco- no start. no spark from coil
or at plugs.... new dist cap, rotor, OEM plug wires, new ignition amp, have the
LR Reoair manual, all voltages in Elec section tests 1-5 are all within specs--
all points to the coil- all all wires appear in good order..... question_ anything
special about the Bosch coil?  any known substitutes?  can I take the one out
of my old Army Jeep (now 12v vs. original 24V...)- and swap it into the Disco
just to isolate the problem to the coil- or will I fry something??  fuel pressure
at the rail is about 34 psi, cranking 38 psi- so it's not a fuel problem, engine
cranks over just fine, new optima battery..... thanks- Tim, Alpine, Az   Cell

Answer
Most 12v electronic ignition coils are compatible with your car.

If you have good connections, continuity and a new amplifier, this only leaves the coil and the distributor pick up.  Try the coil first.  Test the coil at the coil lead and not at the plug wires.
