Land Rover Repair: 2001 Range Rover check Engine light flashing, steering joints, brake rotor

Question
QUESTION: My 2001 Range Rover check engine light is flashing. Any advice of what the problem might be. I have also notice that the engine seem to have some miss fire and is losing power.

any help with be appreciated

ANSWER: The check engine light flashes when there is a severe misfire, which may cause catalyst damage.  Common causes of misfires are spark plug wire failure and ignition coil failure.  I would recommend changing both of these items and the spark plugs as well.

If you want to buy the coils, plug wires and spark plugs, I would avoid the dealer if you want to keep the price reasonable.  If you want, you can buy them through my shop at www.britisheurotech.com

QUESTION: Thank you very much for answering my question. I  am recurrently ordering listed part from www.britisheurotech.com. I have a follow up question related to the vibration. At low speed my front wheel are vibrating when i break between 60MPH and 70MPH. i had them balanced and rotated but the problem persists. Any suggestion as of what might be causing this vibration. Tires are Michelin and have a 40% usage.

Answer
Hi Theo,

Thanks for your order!  In regards to the vibration, it sounds like a warped brake rotor.  If it were the tyres or steering joints, I would expect it to happen on acceleration and under load, not just on braking.  Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
