Land Rover Repair: WET ROVER, land rover hse, air flow meter

hi just got my first rover drove it home (3hr drive) worked great wash the engine with water and now it will only
run for 3 sec  thanks NIC
1996 LAND ROVER HSE 4.6  170000 KM

It sounds like you may have dislodged the connection on the air flow meter or you may have got water inside.  The ECU is behind the battery and could also have gotten water inside it, as could the fuse box.  You need to check all of these items for water, dry them all with electrical cleaner and apply electrical grease to seal it and make a good connection.  Do not wash the engine again!  Obviusly, it is not a great idea.
