Question
range rover p38 1996 4.6 the car wiil idle for hours as soon as put under load it over heats it shows no signs of head gaskets blown water pump ok rad ok thermostats removed no air in system HELP please i am stuck many thanks Rich

Answer
Any Range Rover with over 70k miles almost definitely requires a new radiator.  Even when they look OK, at that age they are usually not.  Also, if there is a cold spot in the radiator, the viscous coupling won't activate and move enough air.

I am not sure if you meant to say that you removed the thermostat and are running it wihout it, but if this is the case, a certain amount of coolant will bypass the radiator causing it to heat under load.
