Land Rover Repair: Gas tank filling issues, landrover discovery, discovery series

I have a 99 Landrover Discovery series I. When I try to fill the gas tank it will only take small amounts of gas and you must pump it very slow at that. It acts as if its full when its not. It will back up into the filler neck and shut the pump off. Please advise. Thanks.

There was a Technical Service Bulletin issued that addresses this problem.  It involves replacing the trickle valve, which is located at the top of the filler neck.  To replace it you would need to remove the filler neck.  The part# is VU502530.
